This historic boutique hotel—which first opened in 1911 and which completed its most recent renovation in 2004—features a stylish restaurant and lounge famous for its vast vodka selection and menu rich in unique culinary traditions. Live jazz attracts a cosmopolitan crowd of San Jose regulars Wednesday-Sunday evenings. Located across the street from Camera 12 Cinema, the hotel is also a half-block from the historic California Theater, home to Opera San Jose and Symphony Silicon Valley. Several museums and the convention center are also within a few blocks.

Decor within the hotel is a blend of 1920s and 1930s Art Deco influence, modern art from the 1970s, and accents from other periods over the last century, which are combined in an artful and tasteful manner. The hotel provides 84 guestrooms and suites in a five-story building. Rooms have wood furnishings, original artwork, and warm color schemes of camel, brown, salmon, and burnt red.
